Legal and Social Responsibilities of a Personal License Holder (APLH)    

The Certificate Legal and Social Responsibilities of a Personal Licence Holder (formerly NCPLH) courses are delivered across Durham, Newcastle, Darlington and Middlesbrough areas. It gives an understanding of the system of licensing and control in respect of licensed premises and licensable activities and an understanding of the legal and social roles and responsibilities of the Personal Licence holders. It also provides learners with knowledge of the minimum legislation requirements and basic operating procedures in licensed premises along with an understanding of the licensing objectives and of the Personal Licence Holder’s legal and social responsibilities in respect of the responsible use of alcohol, reducing crime and disorder and preventing drug use and drug dealing and the protection of children. This qualification is open to all candidates who are preparing to work, or who are already working in licensed retail, who seek employment or self-employment, supervising premises with premises Licenses that authorise the sale or supply of alcohol, and other licensable activities. The qualification is a QCA accredited qualification and is a mandatory requirement for anyone wishing to apply to be a personal license holder.

Level 2 Award in Underage Sales Prevention (QCF)

The qualification has been developed to assist retail premises in complying with the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003 and the Serious Crime and Disorder Act 2005, two pieces of legislation which will have an impact on retail businesses selling alcohol and other age-restricted products. This qualification is aimed at staff within retail premises selling one or more age-restricted products. Such retail premises will include pubs and bars, hotels, off-sales premises, supermarkets, convenience stores, garages and newsagents. The qualification is also aimed at staff who may find themselves confronted by customers who are intoxicated by alcohol or illegal drugs, and who are demanding service.

The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (QCF) is an industry recognised qualification which has been developed with the sector skills council people 1st 
The qualification is for anyone who handles food as part of their job role should be supervised and instructed and/or trained in food hygiene relevant to their work activity On completion of the qualification the learner will:

Understand the importance of keeping him/herself clean and hygienic

Understand the importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic
