Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Advice and Guidance

· These qualifications are suitable for those working directly with clients in organisations providing advice and guidance services.

· These services may include careers guidance, government agencies such as Connexions, youth work and youth justice, schools, colleges, training providers, universities, prison services, trade unions, charitable and voluntary services, housing, IAG partnerships and human resource departments as well as health and social care environments.

· Learners may work as a receptionist or administrator within advice and guidance services but may not be directly involved in advising clients; however learners may work closely with clients when they first contact the service. There are two units at Level 2 within this suite of qualifications; these units are a good stepping stone into the qualification of advice and guidance and learners will receive unit accreditation enabling progression onto Level 3 as their role develops.

· At Level 3 the learner’s role will involve providing advice and guidance directly to clients, reporting to line management as well as associated services. Learners may also supervise and support other staff members.

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence stored on our electronic platform which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Centre. Progression: Individuals achieving this qualification may wish to progress onto a higher level qualification in Advice and Guidance.

Delivery: The course is a totally flexible roll on roll off programme which is built around your job role and commitments and can be delivered over 26 weeks, the end date will be negotiated with you at the beginning of the course. The course can be delivered in your workplace on a one to one basis or in group/one to one workshops, through blended learning using our online platform or a combination of the above whichever is best for you.

Assessor

Assessor Routes:

There are two routes to the Assessor qualification.

Route one is to complete Assessing Vocational Skills Knowledge and Understanding; this is for people who work in a classroom environment and assess learners through completion of activities within the classroom. (This tends to be more suitable for a college tutor.)

The second route is the Assessors Award in Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment; this is for people who visit learners within the workplace to assess them against areas of occupational competence usually completing a NVQ programme of learning.

Level 3 Award in Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

This qualification is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment.

Duration: The total qualification time for this qualification is 90 hours and of this, 54 hours are recommended as guided learning hours, with the duration being around 12 weeks however the end date will be negotiated and agreed with yourself at the first meeting and can be completed quicker subject to you already having evidence from the workplace we can use towards the Assessors Award.

Price: The price of the course is £600 (VAT Exempt).

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Centre. This course can be taken through any Highfield approved training centre.

Progression: Individuals achieving this qualification may wish to progress onto one of the following qualifications:

Customer Service

Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service

Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service is for learners who work in, or who want to work in customer service in roles such as Customer Service Advisor, Customer Service Operator, Call Centre Advisor, Help Desk Operative and Service Agent.

It gives learners the opportunity to:

● develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above. Technical knowledge includes the principles and practices of delivering customer service and understanding the different types of customers, their needs, wants and expectations. Wider sector-related knowledge includes equality and diversity, organisational structure and environment, and legislation and regulations that govern the industry

● develop and demonstrate a range of technical skills and behaviours that supports competence in the job roles stated above. This includes communicating with customers using appropriate communication channels, resolving customer problems and complaints, building relationships with customers, promoting additional products and/or services and the ability to improve own learning and performance

● develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning through the development of personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS)

● have existing skills recognised

● achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.

Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service is for learners who work in, or who want to work in customer service roles such as Customer Service Supervisor Customer Relationship Manager Customer Service Team leader Client Services Officer Events Coordinator.

The qualification gives learners the opportunity to:

● develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above. This includes the principles, and techniques for organising and delivering customer service, building and maintaining relationships with customers and an understanding of the legislation and regulations that governs the industry

Level 3 Diploma in Management is for learners who work in, or who want to work in management roles such as Section Manager, First Line Manager, Assistant Manager, Trainee Manager, Senior Supervisor and Junior Non- Commissioned Officer.

It gives learners the opportunity to:

● develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above. This includes principles of equality, diversity and inclusion, the principles of leadership and management and the principles of people management.

Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and Leadership is designed for learners’ to develop core middle management skills and competencies. It also introduces learners to strategic management concepts, preparing those who aspire towards senior management roles.

The qualification gives learners the opportunity to:

● develop and demonstrate occupational competence to undertake and progress into middle management roles in a range of business settings, for example: senior manager, area manager, head of department, stakeholder manager, business development manager

● develop and demonstrate current technical skills and sector related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above, this includes topics on: providing leadership and management, contributing towards strategic plans, designing business processes and managing strategic change

● recognise existing management and leadership skills

● achieve a nationally-recognised Level 5 qualification

● develop own personal growth and engagement in learning.

BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership

The BTEC Level 5 Diploma extends the work related focus from the BTEC Level 5 Certificate and forms the technical knowledge component for the Level 5 Management and Leadership Higher Apprenticeship.

This qualification gives the learner an opportunity to:

● develop role-specific and wider technical knowledge to support competence in roles such as Manager, Senior Manager, Director or Head of Department through the study of leadership and management principles, strategic business planning and decision making, and a selection of themes in areas such as management activities, business processes, risk management, business performance and improvement.

● develop a foundation of knowledge and understanding at level 5 based on the Management NOS and complements the outcomes in the Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and Leadership

● pursue own personal development or progress onto other professional qualifications at level 6 and above, such as the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management

● extend their programme of study through a complementary NVQ or other related vocational or personal and social development qualification

Teaching and Assessment

Level 3 Award in Education and Training

The Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) has been designed to provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities.

Duration/Price: The total qualification time for this qualification is 120 hours and of this 48 hours are recommended as guided learning hours. The price of this course is £300 (VAT Exempt).

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Centre. This can be assessed through any Highfield approved training centre.

Progression: Individuals achieving this qualification may wish to progress onto the Highfield Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

Delivery: Level 3 Award in Education and Training is completed via full day 3 workshops with individual assignments completed in-between each workshop, each delegate will be expected to deliver a short teaching session during one of the workshops which will be observed. Alternatively the course can be completed using blended learning with individual assignments completed remotely using our online platform with the delegate attending one workshop to deliver an short teaching session, individual support sessions will be completed remotely to support the learner with the completion of the assignments.

Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

The Highfield Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) has been designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. It requires observation and assessment of practice and the range of optional units available provide opportunities to contextualise the qualification for different learning environments.

Duration/Price: The total qualification time for this qualification is 360 hours and of this 140 hours are recommended as guided learning hours. The price of this course is £720 (VAT Exempt) which includes your assessors award if required.

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Centre.

Progression: Individuals achieving this qualification may wish to progress onto a higher level teaching qualification.

Delivery: The course is a totally flexible roll on roll off programme which is built around your job role and commitments and can be delivered over 12 weeks, the end date will be negotiated with you at the beginning of the course. The course can be delivered in your workplace on a one to one basis or in group/one to one workshops, or a combination of both whichever is best for you. During the course you will need to demonstrate that you have completed 30 hours teaching within the workplace.  

The Level 4 Certificate are for those who wish to work in Education in a teaching or training environment. It teaches you the knowledge and practical skills to be able to support learners on a one to one basis or in a group.

If you decide to work towards the Level 4 Certificate in Education and do not already have your  Assessors Award I will combine this qualification for you free of charge as part of the package, which would mean once you had achieved this you would have all of the necessary qualifications to work in Adult Education. 

Safeguarding and Prevent

Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent

The purpose of this qualification is to support anyone who is responsible for the safeguarding of people and for helping prevent radicalisation. It gives learners an understanding of recognising the signs of abuse, how to reduce the risk of radicalisation and the potential consequences of illegal online activity.

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence stored on our electronic platform which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Centre. Verifier

Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices

This qualification is intended for those who maintain and improve the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.

Duration: The total qualification time for this qualification is 120 hours and of this 90 hours are recommended as guided learning hours. 

Price: Costs £600 or £300 per Individual Unit (VAT Exempt). 

Assessment: Portfolio of evidence / observation / professional discussion and witness testimony.

Progression: Once learners have achieved this award, they can progress to the following qualifications:

  • Highfield IQA qualifications
  • Highfield Level 4 Award In Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

 Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice 

This qualification is intended for those who lead a team of internal quality assurance staff.

Duration: The total qualification time for this qualification is 170 hours and of this 115 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Price: £300 for the Individual Unit (VAT Exempt).

Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. The portfolio of evidence will be assessed and internally quality assured by the Centre.

Progression: Individuals achieving this qualification may wish to progress onto one of the following qualifications:
